Requesting O submissions from other members; we'll agree on one and break out the crayons.
This is just for a little fun & practice, so nothing too difficult please. I have in mind maybe a portrait with a simple background, but we'll choose from amongst whatever is submitted. Let the games begin!

For those who may not yet know, our friend LightGiver died on July 19th. He was a good friend and very loyal supporter of this site as well as Mr Squirrel's Scrutinizer Forums. He was a very good friend - provided me emotional support and inspiration in darker days. In 2008 he named one of his alpacas "Dig" in my honor - and named another "Jazzy", for his favorite British Squirrel Jazzycat. He loved the photoshoppers as much as Photoshop. He participated in many tourneys and always voted. Always.

I just can't believe he is gone... he was only 58. :(

John loved Alphabet Tennis so I'm setting up this challenge to honor him, using one of his alpaca farm photos. Please participate, remember, and most important - Enjoy!!
Then - http://randomfactgenerator.net/ - look through the random facts, there are some that are 3-6 words long. Find one that fits for an album title, legitimate or funny.
Extra Credit (a hearty handshake) - use either of the first 2 sites to also create the title of the title of the hit single listed on the album cover.

Now, create the album cover or for you younger whipper snappers, CD booklet artwork and post them here. Submit / post your entries ASAP.
Let's set a deadline of midnight Sunday March 17th. I don't know how to set up a voting parameter, if a mod could do it or tell me how, great.
EPIC Image Narrative - Suggestions and Ideas

Please provide chatter here in this thread on how you think we should navigate through the pics in the Image Thread:
- In the order they are now,
- by theme,
- using all the eye pictures as 'portals' to drill down into other images,
- your nifty suggestions...
etc

We have 99.9% of the curves and loops and twists for our roller coaster ride, but how are we going to lay them out to create an awesome adventure - I would like to hear ideas. Your thoughts on best images to drill into (rather than scroll into from the side). Your thoughts on the Starting Frame and ending frames.

But if asking for a navigation scheme is 'too much', can I please get you to...
- provide your favorite images that you think might make the best Start and End images?
OR
- should we have separate Start and Finish pics - one with introductory text and one with end credits?
OR
- should we use the same image for Start and Finish and keep text on transparency layers? This would enable a 'loop' effect - a continuity were the reel to play again?

Thanks!

Here is a continuous sheet of all the project images.

Thanks for the posting this idea LightGiver - much appreciated.

If the above scroll is too much in one viewing, here are smaller bites:
1. Andy Iceprey to GeeGee

2. ICUR to Sonic3

3. Supdog to Yugoboy
[Please ignore the wavion evil pic - that will not be in the set. teehee]

Please try not to focus on the border colors but rather the primary color(s) of the image because in theory, in the video, you won't see those solid borders but rather "in-betweens" images that link adjoining pics so it looks like a continuous scroll. Those who worked on multiple panels of an exquisite corpse will understand - or just look at the PSC video in the Project Summary.

There are a LOT of great images in that thread - I think you all have a lot to be proud of just by itself. When it's complete and rolling, it will be... well Epic.

Below are all the inline versions (960x540) of the images you created, submitted, or allowed me to select on your behalf.

As of 12/3/2012, only 1 image is outstanding - my 'warning image. 86 images are posted in this gallery!

All of these images were templated off the 1920x1080 Masters. [I've retained copies of the Masters offline, but am looking to post them in a gallery and present them in a slideshow**].

Where participants submitted a letterbox image, the vast majority fill the image box. Where the submitted image did not naturally fill the video dimensions, I added gradient vertical borders of complimentary color.

For those of whom I selected images, if you have a personal preferred image you would like to swap out or a better quality original, please contact me at guidedbypandas.digital@gmail.com and we'll make arrangements.

After all images are submitted, the next step will be to determine the order and nature of the narration. I've posted them alphabetically by handle - and maybe that's fine. But we still need to determine which should be scrolled into or drilled down into.

Project EPIC - Summary

Project: EPIC

Purpose: To show the world Our voice, Our dreams, and Our warnings.

Media: Video

Format: Roll & Zoom Rollercoaster!

Inspired by this ROLL by a gang of 22 from PSC:

And
this ZOOM created by a gang of 34 at Mad Mind Worx.

Soundtrack: Demiurge, 4:58 minutes. Written by wavion. Performed by TASM (This Are Serious Music)

Artwork by: YOU
3 images required*
- if you could show us who you are, how would you paint it?
- if you could make a dream come true, what would it be?
- if you have a warning to the world, how would you proclaim it?

This project requires a lot of introspection. Times are tough - a recurrent theme for folk who don't feel they can participate is "too busy and/or too little energy".

While the intent is to create original content, IF you have 1-2 existing images that you feel best represent you, please feel free to send them to me. I've already resized one set of images for a comrade, I will do the same for you if you just don't have time.

Image Dimensions: 1920px wide x 1080px tall, 600Kib Max

Images will also be posted inline for all to review: 960px wide X 540px Tall, MAX 250KiB.
If you are able to post yourself, resize and post: HERE. I will resize and post the images for non-members.

Either link to the larger video pic inline OR email the larger pic to me at this address: guidedbypandas.digital@gmail.com

Special Instructions:

Keep details off both left & right borders within 100px of the edge.

keep a small area, at least 100px in diameter, within your image "open" as this will serve as portal for those images selected for zooming. The space does NOT need to be dead center. If the image is NOT selected as a Zoom point, you will have the opportunity later to fill in the space.

Here is an example with bars and circle to signify 'transition' zones: http://www.misfitsquirrels.com/msepic/na...Circle.jpg
For an image of this size, this still allows a lot of room to do your thing.

After all submissions received:
1. Define Narrative - After all primary images received, participant order will be determined.

2. Create Transitions - I and possibly 1~2 other participant(s) will be assigned to create "in-between" transitions - pixel magic bridging adjoining pics in the roll and/or zoom sequences. So that when complete, your individual voices will become one EPIC voice.

3. I was going to have a contest to determine the start/end pic but I think in light of the times and struggles, I would like to create original content to tribute all, especially those whose voice has been silenced.

4. Video Compile

5. Much rejoicing, free ice cream for participants, and profit in the marvel that is Photoshoperation.

Participants:

GuidedByPandas ** + 1WIP

EPIC Project Summary

The official Project Summary is found HERE

Initial posts in this thread describe the original driving force and how anger morphed into action, peace, and ice cream.

But I saw the light. Finally. lend your voice and give peace, love, power, and ice cream a chance.

Everyone who joins in gets a free ice cream cone.

Epic Project Detail:

While I initially envisioned a voice of anger - and if you are angry your voice will be accepted - but thought this expand into something special - OUR voice - more than anger, but also who we are and what are our dreams.

I'm envisioning something artsy, something crass, something with boobies and wieners snuck in, and something mindblowingly awesome. Something Misfitty, something Fark, and even something PSC-y if they are so inclined.

Options to Display our Voice:
1. ROLL. This video was created by the gang at PhotoShopContest.com a few years ago.

So it's kinda an Exquisite Corpse on steroids. Something we can do because we all have before.

2. ZOOM. We can roll along, like PSC did, or deep dive - LIKE THIS.

3. Rollercoaster of Glory!!!. A combination of Roll and Zoom.

UPDATE: The Squirrel Republic chose '3' - Roll and Zoom

We can do this more epic because not only do we have chop talent both artistic and crass, but also the music talent to keep the damn YouTube MAN off our backs.

We have the bandwidth and the space to pull this off here. I'd like to see at least 20-40 misfits working on this.

Be EPIC today.
