Revival of the Classic Collaborations!

Revival of the Classic Collaborations!
"Somebody" PM'd me today about the possibility of reviving the Classic Collaborations. I'm totally game for it. If people could reply to this thread if they're interested, I'll PM you your piece sometime next weekend.

This will happen if we get at least 5 respondents. I can chop into 6 or more chunks (I'll take care of one). If we get an even number of "players", somebody will get to do 2, or I'll plead for a final participant.

A synonym of Revival would be Renaissance. The theme will be Renaissance when I consider what image to use.

Absolutely!
And there's room for plenty more... I haven't yet looked for an image. I'll be doing that as soon as I'm done with my H2H entry, which will be right after...

anyway... I'm hoping this weekend to have something together now that we have enough to work with. More is always better!

YAAAAY a Classic Collaborations contest. Count me in.

Now if one of you incredibly nice folks (I'm new here so apologies go out to those of you who do not like to be thought of as "nice") could be so kind as to splain what a Classic Collaboration contest is that would be swell.

We've done a couple in the past. Here's one: http://misfitsquirrels.com/forums/showth...hp?tid=214

Basically, I find an image (generally a painting) and break it into approximately equal size tiles. Each person does with it what they will, but it should retain enough of the original properties to be stitched back together with the others to make a whole.

I'm not sure why, but the second one: http://misfitsquirrels.com/forums/showth...hp?tid=183 isn't showing any of the images for me.

BTW - it's not a "contest" it's a collaboration. We're all trying to put our own imprint on a classic, but we're working towards one common goal, not trying to out-do or beat each other.

Why would you post a link to a thread with possibly no images if you knew you couldn't see the images? [Especially since you could see images in the other thread].

I'll hazard a guess here and say the reason the 1st one has images is because all of the images are actually linked in from the web whereas the 2nd 'example' used inline attachments and attachments don't usually migrate when you change boards like we did. [Different boards manage attachments differently].

This newer thread can be a good 2nd example though... it is still populated.

Hey Yugoboy I been chatting live in the Misfit chat room this would be a good place for the collaborators to chat about this collaboration and it's fun too

I guess we could arrange a conference time?

RE: Revival of the Classic Collaborations!
If I participate, we've got 7 people.

I've picked an image, but 7's a weird number to try to divvy the pic up into. Have we got an 8th?

Anyone?

I dunno.... 7 could be cool. Divide the top in thirds and bottom in fourths. Strange overlap. I mean, eight is great too! Jus'sayin.

RE: Revival of the Classic Collaborations!
Pieces have been sent to the 6 current participants.

It's my goal to have this done in 1 week.

Still looking for an 8th (wo)man. If I don't get anybody, I have a plan B.
