As for me... this one went a LOT differently. I tried to paint this one the way I did the last one, but that just wasn't working for me, so I searched for applicable textures and replaced shapes with those. Then I desaturated the original image and overlaid it, mostly so we could see the face on the woman in red. I also had some fun looking up the book covers.

Fifi's is interesting, and hopefully she'll share what she did.

This one doesn't quite "hang together" the same way the last one did... but it's got a lot more personality. I like 'em both in their own ways... kinda like choosing between which kid you like more...

Thank you all for your hard work and for the way this turned out...

BTW - I'm outta here starting next Saturday for like 9 days... if it rains I might find a library and try to catch up, otherwise, it's 9 days of canoeing, hiking, biking, camping and just generally enjoying all that the Adirondacks have to offer...
Next collaboration will be "famous artist" inspired, but be much more open for massive participation (or not)... you'll see shortly after the 4th of July!

OK, I ruined it. I take full responsibility. My rectangle doesn't mesh AT ALL. I was not familiar with this painting, so I took more liberties than I should have. Next time, I might need to see the entire painting so that I can do a better job of meshing my borders. Sorry guys.

No worries. The whole point of this is to use your own interpretation on your section without seeing the whole image. So you didn't ruin it, you did exactly what you are supposed to do.

No worries. The whole point of this is to use your own interpretation on your section without seeing the whole image. So you didn't ruin it, you did exactly what you are supposed to do.

If there's a call for it in the future, we can do one where the complete image is known by all beforehand. We've got the whole future to try all kinds of different ideas...

Yours is just fine as is, is strong on its own and is an important portion of the whole. Trust me, you were the second one (even before I did mine), if I had thought there'd be a problem, I'd have said something.

Veeerry interesting. I cannot find a pic of the original. Is it posted? I saw the original of the first but cannot find this one. Then again I usually cannot find my glasses when they are on my head. BTW NICE job EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY! I'm still working up the acorns to try one. :downtown:

For the past 2 collaborations, that has been the case. It does not have to be in the future.

I actually like the fact that we have no idea what the adjacent squares will look like. The randomness makes the final image that much more interesting.
