EPIC Project Chatter

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
I think it was Documentary Producer Ken Burns who proved you can kill two hours scrolling around one big pic. He called it "The Civil War".

OK! One 100% in the can, and I just have to tighten down the bolts on the other two. Can't wait to see what everyone else is making!

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
I'm resetting the deadline to 8/15.

For one thing, my life has been busier than Hell. For a second thing, I'm having surgery next Weds. Not a big big deal, just something to help me cope a little better. I'm still on the "mind transport to robot" list. I've also added myself to the "mind transport to gorilla" list and I'm contemplating the "cross genetics" list - even life as a giant lizard may be better. Desperate times and all that...

Just saw Amazing Spiderman - I liked it much more than Sam Raimi's version and I like Sam Raimi! Except it didn't have any gorillas (no Spider-Monkey) or Pandas. They can try in the next episode.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
I suppose I could read every single entry and find the answer, or I could just ask:

How family-friendly must these images be? I don't want to give anything away, but there be tits.

And a weener. Or three. Possibly a huge scary slavering vagina monster. And, if it's MY dream, there's always a little box in the corner with a gif of a killer/cop/vampire's munchworthy buttocks... but I could leave that out, I suppose.

Aaand, while I'm on the subject, not that I would ever do anything so crude, unless, you know, the Muse directs me in such a way that it would be unavoidable, but are images of tender physical intimacy allowed? I only ask because I frequently feel people should be warned not to act out The Aristocrats.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Well if you look in the Primary images thread, I may have dropped a nudie in there. What I did was make the image, then ask the Great pumpkin... no, wait, I emailed the Panda with a copy of the image. I figured it's his sandbox... I guess PG-13 borderline R? Problem is that weenies are automatic NC-17 these days even though I for one, have one I'm very very fond of! Yet somehow boobies are ok-ish. I don't know, I should go to bed, but if you dream of weenies... sit com? I dream of weenie? Then who am I to say that's wrong? ANY how...I have no idea.

My personal feeling is that I would rather see nudity than gore. Oh you are talking about the video. Well... since YouTube is a largely American product and while some may find gore offensive, every American's head explodes when viewing nudity... so PG-Meh13/artistic R. It's the world we live in Mr Giant Squirrel. If you can sneak that stuff in without being blatantly pornographic, go for it. Be artistic - use "classic" nudes - or be clever and sneaky.

And if the damn thing gets flagged by YT anyway, I'll find a new home. A copy will be featured in our galleries here too (which actually get decent traffic).

The question is valid and was asked previously; I just forgot to post the update to the project header. It is there now.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
I asked a question here but I think I found the answer in Napalm's mailbox. If I have offended anyone this year, well I can give a pretty good excuse but it won't change the past. I apologize. And if you have just moved on, goodbye and thanks for the memories friend.

For those who are participating - thank you! We likely will be able to do more than 3 pics if you are interested. I really don't want to post a Kiddie Coaster that goes up & down a few times and runs in circles. So if you are interested in making this great, we can extend out the timeline to make it as wonderful as possible.

Oh... my surgery went well so I'll be a Super-Panda in a couple days.

dsclink and ElectronChaser now have commitments taking them away from here for extended stretches. So I guess I'll roll back into a co-Poobah role and retire Napalm (or re-assign him as a test user). I've seriously considered closing the site as visits to the Forums have dropped dramatically. But I originally promised that if at least 5 people were interested I'd keep the door open. Just think of this as your own private getaway McMansion. Critrpanda

1 - I am very glad the deadline has been extended because...

2 - Every idea I've been trying is quite un-epic... OK... a better word is LAME.

I've got no idea how to do any of these pics that ain't gonna just be some cut & paste job. I've got a month... I do sure hope I'll come up with something...

How dare you, sir! Such calumny I have never heard, assuming calumny means what I think it does.

I had my knees blown off during the Great Pre-Season Practice and I lost my right ankle in the Schwinn-Pontiac Wars. I, sir, am as lame as they come.

But I am also capable of epic. Major epic. Significant epic. Massive epic. Epic epic, if you will. Epic squared, yottaepic, metaepic, epic so recursive it becomes pice.

I assure you, good sir, that lame is no barrier to epic. Anybody says otherwise, I shall slowly and painfully shamble after them, posting scurrilous images implying their mothers lust after woodland creatures, as has been done recently to great comic effect on this very inter-net by some gentleman apparently overly devoted to gruel.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
For what it's worth, I'm really, really, really going to try to come up with images to participate in this grand adventure now that the deadline has been extended. But the new job is sucking the brainpower big time since I'm having to learn all sorts of new things quickly to be any good to the kind people that hired me. I'm planning to repurpose elements, not whole images just pieces, from work I've done in the past along with photographs I've taken. That should speed up the process.

The only challenge left is that while I have ideas for the "you" and "warning" images, to be honest I don't have any "dreams" lately. But there's still time!

Do remember, it doesn't have to be original content. And the theme is open to a lot of interpretation - you have a lot of images with dream-like quality. So grab one and fill it to the dimensions and you have your dream entry.

Toots - I got all your pics and I will post them in the thread this weekend. I had a minor surgery last week and recovery has knocked me behind schedule at work. I think by weekend I should be able to participate here more.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
3 updates:
1) I posted Toots images in the Primary Images thread. Go take a look.

2) I extended the deadline until August 31st. Personally I've operated in two modes this year since my Feb surgery: very busy and very sick, neither offering much time for Photoshop. I plan to work on my images starting this week. I have my warning and my dream, just figuring out who the hell I am is the tricky part. Happy3

Yes, extending the deadline again. Well here's the deal, if this is what it takes to get more people from this site then I will continue to extend. Tonight I'm going into my final phase of recruiting from the site - after that, what we got is what we got.

3) In a PSC forum topic of the Fearless Roll, I mentioned this project and if anyone there was interested to feel free to join in. 16 contributors - assuming everyone contributes - is good, but ideally we need 25-30, more won't hurt. A couple PSC'ers expressed interest.
So I'm going to set them up with temporary MS accounts so they can chat and/or vote (when we get there).

If you know of other non-Squirrels who might be interested in contributing, pass on this offer to them as well. I haven't been on Fark in quite awhile and I sorta get the feeling that many there like it that way. But if there are Farkers just interested in contributing to this (but not joining the site), they are welcome too.

Once upon a time many hundreds of years ago, Photoshop sites did things together. This will be one such project because honestly, I don't know who doesn't have a voice and our voices are no more important than anyone else.

Peace.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
I've updated and simplified the Project Summary - take a look see. I've dropped the Submission deadline - this is more than just a project now. Now more than ever, your voices need to be heard. And for those who don't have the energy to speak, I will speak on your behalf, as you spoke for me during my dark days. This work will represent all of us - it has to be Epic. Because all of you are.

Last night I reached out to 10 friends who had not responded previously. Several did respond and provided excellent insight into the lack of response on the project as well as the site.

The doors of this site will not close - they will remain open for anyone to drop by and leave a message, a doodle, or start a challenge. They will remain open as long as I have a say and beyond. And I'm not leaving either.

This is your home and you are welcome here anytime, no matter your life circumstance.

Thank you,
Guided by Pandas
