From what I got out of the launch demo and the demos added since...
(Keep in mind that I'm still skeptical about all of these features)
1. Select the model and copy her to a new layer. From what they showed, the selection should only take a few minutes. You just use what looks like the quick selection tool then refine the edges.
2. Back to the main layer.
a) Re-select the woman (you remembered to save the selection, right?)
b) Re-select the woman using a sloppy selection like the polygonal lasso tool[/list:u]
3. Fill (or delete?) your selection. If it works as advertised, you've now got a clean background to work with.
4. Back to model's layer. Mask out her skin. If you've masked her properly, the (now clean) background shows where there was skin.
5. Create a layer to fill in the stuff that is wrong. This is probably the most difficult part because it requires that you see or imagine what isn't there. For example, you should be able to see the insole of her shoe and it is not the tree behind her face if her hair is visible.
6. Make finishing touches such as adjusting lighting, applying shadows, etc.. [/list:u]
A word of explanation about steps 2 and 3 - In one example, they selected the subject to be erased and then filled it using using Content Aware Fill (CAF?) In another example (using the same subject) they simply did a sloppy selection around the subject and just deleted him. In both cases, the CAF filled in the background. Different methods for the same results? One is better/more accurate than the other? Changes during development? I have no idea but I'm looking forward to finding out. :-)
