RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Thread updated.... ICUR had done 3 pics, not 1, but 2 got lost in transit. Or I had a brain cloud. So I posted her dream and warning pics.

Working on my final pics tonight.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
On 10/7 Along with a link to the images, I posted this:
Next Steps
1. Complete submissions.

2. Decide the order and nature of the narration.
I've posted them alphabetically by handle - and maybe that's fine. But we still need to determine which should be scrolled into or drilled down into.

3. Then I (and maybe a couple volunteers) create bridge images linking the images through the narration.

***************

I hope we hear from dsclink soon else I'll likely just grab some images from his portfolio. So we are very close on image completion. I did start my last 2 pictures, but I was very sick between 10/10 and 11/20... not much I could do then. My dream is me as a senior citizen exploring Mt Rainier and my warning is a funny piece about the Panda CUTE Conspiracy (Napalm's contribution).

So while #1 technically is not yet complete, there are 74 pictures submitted and only 5 outstanding. I think it's safe for folk to start activity #2.

Please provide chatter here in this thread on how you think we should navigate through the pics: In the order they are now, by theme, using all the eye pictures as 'portals' to drill down into other images, etc

We have 98% of the curves and loops and twists for our roller coaster ride, but how are we going to lay them out to create an awesome adventure - I would like to hear ideas. Your thoughts on best images to drill into (rather than scroll into from the side). Your thoughts on the Starting Frame and ending frames.

It would be a great Christmas or News Year present to post this ride before January.

Toots - If you promise to stay alive to 1/1/2013, I promise to do everything in my control to deliver a video draft by that date. I can't make guarantees: I was just in the hospital again last Sunday; the last 4 months have been a major struggle but hopefully seeing some light now given a recent treatment.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Go ahead and grab images from my portfolio. I've been so busy with other things I haven't even opened Photoshop in the last few months. I don't know when I'll be able to again. I miss it though.

I'm not a complete idiot...

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Can i make a swap? I'd like to replace my ocean shot (which is more of a photograph than a photoshop) with a different image:

(something i did when i was in a really dark place)

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
More good work, Johnebones. That is a searing image.

So 74 images have been submitted? They're not all online, are they? I've only seen a few.

As for the order of images, I would personally suggest that there shouldn't be any rules -- it should be decided on a case-by-case basis by some creative person(s) who look for synergy between submissions.

The PMs went to site members who provided submissions; you all have a stake in this and I really want you to voice your preferences.

Everyone has waited long enough - I like to be able to at least post a draft video by the end of the month. I need your help. The sooner you can voice preferences, the more focused I can be in creating in-between images. I guess if I don't get any feedback within the next week, I'll just move forward on my own. BUt I really don't want to hear folk say "It could have been better if you did X..." AFTER I complete the video.

I'm sorry you all had to wait, but I have to take care of myself 1st. At least I'm still here to finish this project.

Regarding the posting of images - 74 images were posted to the Forums on October 7th. Look back one page to fully read post I created (and sent email).

The image list has just been updated - there are now 86 images posted: EPIC Project Image Thread Link

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Scrolling through all the collected images I was struck by how much talent is represented. It really looks like lots and lots of time (and creativity) went into producing all that artwork. And I was also struck by how you can get such a sense of the style of the person who created the work just from 3 pieces.

I think it's going to be an fantastic project given the quality of the source material. And my preference on the questions posed is that GbyP should "follow his muse" in pulling it together. I think whatever seems like the right way at the time it's built is probably the best way.

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Your posts are not gone, just moved to a happier place. I requested folk to post suggestions and idea about how to manage the narrative of the project images or that was too heady, to at give suggestions about Start/End images.

Then LightGiver made a groovy suggestion - view thumbnails of the images. Thank you!

So I created a new discussion thread just for the narrative and posted an image of a single tall sheet containing all the thumbnails (and some links to smaller chunks):
Project Narrative - Suggestions and Ideas

Please take a look at the thumbnails and post your input/ideas there.

Thank you!

RE: EPIC Project Chatter
Howdy... Been a While...

My therapist and I began talking about how my job ain't very satisfying at the moment, and I spoke about how my PS Muse has been relatively comatose lately. She basically ordered me to get out my Wacom and force myself to do... something... anything...

Gonna look at the images in a bit, and I promise to try to make something new to add. Given my schedule, I guarantee it'll either be done by Jan 1, or it ain't gonna get done (i.e. my muse went from comatose to flatline).

My RL has been better than it was, but the level of effort it has been taking to maintain that is overwhelming. The lack of satisfaction is in the fact that I often walk out of work feeling like I haven't contributed a bit to the improvement of anyone's lives, my expertise is wasted, and my soul is tired.

Anyway... maybe I'm back, and maybe I'm just wishful thinkin', but howdy y'all!

All images are fantastic and I recognize several from years past.
I'll leave it to experts to construct the final result.
Happy 2013!Cheers

I'm still supposedly hot, so my pixels count...
