How to set up a Polled Contest

Add a New Thread.

First entertain the masses with amusing content and a description of your contest in the contest thread header (1st post).

In your contest description, please identify contest type:
a) Original,
b) Theme
c) Challenge,
d) something completely new & alien.

And set the conditions of your contest. Example conditions:
a) # of players allowed,
b) # of acceptable entries per player,
c) voting for multiple images allowed,
d) public voting - we see who votes for what.

Then post entry submission period dates:
1) Entry Submission Start Date-time:

2) Entry Submission End Date-time:

After the entry submission deadline passes, Select "Full Edit" of this post and add a poll - simply check the "I want to post a poll" option and set the # of options (i.e, how many entries are in your contest). These 2 settings are beneath the text entry box in Post edit mode.

Click the "Update Post" button.

This takes you to a Poll options window. Here you can:
0) reset the # of poll options in case you got the # wrong initially
1) Post a witty Contest Question
2) Identify the entries by user name (and Image # if more than one allowed)
3) Set Poll options like allowing voters to vote for more than one option or for the vote results to be fully public (we see who voted for which entry... this is how PSC rates contests).
4) Finally, set the # of days the poll should run.

Click "Update Post" button.

The Poll now appears ABOVE your contest header.

Select the "Edit" button near the bottom of the window one more time and add the following to your contest header:
1) Voting Start Date-time:

2) Voting End Date-time:

Click the "Update Post" button.

When the Contest ends, simply add a post to the end of the thread identifying the contest winner(s).

NOTE: If you need to edit the Poll ONLY, there is an "Edit Poll" link located at the bottom of the Poll on the right side. Only the Misfit who set up the contest thread can edit the 1st post and poll. Well, Admins and Super-Mods can too, but you are all grown up now.
