Also, is there a 'Mini-Contest Zone' chatter thread where we can discuss these? I don't want it to be a burden on the admin/mods if they need to move comments out of threads. So these open exchanges - which are related to the work - are fine. We typically ask for separation of comments and images only in special prize contests where we are going to set up polls or viewing/voting galleries. It just makes it easier for folk to find, view, and vote on entries. Most mini-contests are exempt from this practice. Very nice job btw libranoelrose! Maybe after the tournament, I'll have the chance to participate too. Carry on. I opened the large one and had a really close look, your attention to detail is meticulous. I loved the finer touches, her pink nails, the blue necklace, the piercings, and all the flowers on the jacket. Very very well done, nicely realistic and sympathetic to the ambience of the photo. What did you use as a masking/cutting out tool? Re: Coulourization time, alternative image! - libranoelrose - 03-13-2010 07:36 PM Jazzycat Wrote:libranoelrose - beautiful work! Thanks for the great compliments Jazzy! I wasn't able to click on the 'O' and get the larger version, I used the one that was posted inline. I didn't use any masking or cutting tools on this one, just a bunch of color layers for different parts of the picture and a whole lot of elbow grease with the pen and tablet. I did use the pen tool to stroke paths in a few places (the frame of the parasol, and the stripes on the scarf on the girl on the right.) Here's a link to the .PSD if anyone is interested. Edit: Fixed my typo... Re: Coulourization time, alternative image! - HoboSong - 03-14-2010 01:48 AM
Re: Coulourization time, alternative image! - libranoelrose - 03-14-2010 01:52 AM Whoa Hobo...you nailed the lighting and everything...Fantastic work! Re: Coulourization time, alternative image! - Jazzycat - 03-14-2010 10:34 AM Lovely HoboSong!! As Libra says, you got lighting absolutely spot on. They seem more menacing in your version, but I guess that's the look they intend! Very nice work on the shorter one's jacket, I like the colours you chose. Great attention to detail, I know how difficult hair can be, and you and libranoelrose managed to make it look so easy! Kudos! :queen: |
