My absolute favorite part is the phone. My least favorite parts are the eyes & lips. I would like to see more subtle variation of hues all around within each area of the image. Also, the eyes and lips are over-saturated IMO. However, a fine first post, and on what is perhaps a difficult image. What colorization isn't difficult though? Well, I suppose that's not a universal opinion, but it is mine.

First off; Thank you both very much for the feedback.
Vortex Dweller, The eyes and mouth were the two parts that I just could not get to my liking (the teeth were a total bi%$ch). I started photoshopping sometime last summer, and I really enjoy it. What do you (or anyone) think I should have done to improve the eyes? I am pretty sure I could use light, color, and saturation levels to improve the lips, but I tried a lot of different combinations on the eyes and just could not get them right. There are an awful lot of different things to choose from, and I find more every day. I still love doing this, and hope to be as good as some of you some day.
Again, any input is appreciated, and I feel honored that you would respond to me in such a positive manner.

For the eyes:
Try reducing the opacity on that layer.
For the lips:
add another layer. select a red color. set the brush to dissolve at 40% opacity. Brush just a few spots of the lips and some of the outer lines. Not too much. Go to filter>blur>gausian blur. Set the blur to where the red is just a highlight on the lips.

Having followed he above steps, I see an improvement, especially in the eyes. I will work on the lips, as I am not as satisfied with the as I would like. I will post a link as I do not want to waste bandwidth on this site.

Take the opacity on the layer that colors the lips down to between 20 and 40%. See what that gets you.

Very nice, Electronchaser. I showed my office manager both your and mine, and she said mine looked cartoonish. She also said mine looked like Lilu Dallas (maybe that was a compliment?).
Did you achieve the softness using lighter opacity as was suggested by Vortex dweller? Or is there another trick?

My MAC (Safari?) Didn't care too much for your link...Just a bunch of Cyrillic looking letters.

No browser will like it. You have to right click on the link and select to save the link. Then save it to your computer as colorface.psd.
You can then open it in photoshop and take a look at what I do with the layers.

Hey, Alpha Squirrel here. Unless you here from me, please do not ever worry about the bandwidth on this site. I got plenty and if we start hitting a wall, I'll get more.
What sets this site apart is that we can post big images here. My only request is to stay within 1000px wide x 1500px tall and under 400kb - not because of bandwidth issues, but because of page load issues for some folk who may not have jet-speed dial-up.
